The first two weeks is considered a transition period. New re-entrants are to participate in programming to complete all mandatory in-house groups. Once a resume is completed with the Program Facilitator you will be able to begin job searching.
You will apply for medical assistance, make intake appointments for appropriate treatment needs, and acquire essential identification papers such as social security card, photo ID, etc.
A TLC each reentrant is encouraged to open a checking/savings account. When employment is secured the reentrant is responsible to provide paystub to case manager and pay their TLC invoice. Case managers will check the balance of reentrants accounts monthly and help budget their money appropriately to ensure an adequate savings for housing.
Necessary Expenditures:
1. Pharmacy prescriptions (payment is monthly)
5. 10% savings
6. Linens/Towels at intake will be charged $22 (optional if you wish to bring your own)
We encourage re-entrants with medical needs to apply for STEP transportation or use outside resources for assistance in getting a bus pass.
Re-entrants are permitted to gain free time after their first weekend at TLC. Free time is based on your employment status (unemployed, part time, or full time). Free time may not be outside the district from TLC unless prior approval was given by BCC and/or your parole agent.
Unemployed Re-Entrants must request free time on "Free Time" paperwork weekly.
Part Time Re-entants are permitted to be out 9am-7pm
Full Time Re-entrants are permitted to be out 9am-9pm.
In order to obtain a furlough (travel pass) you must be at TLC for at least 2 weeks, employed and/or volunteering for at least 32 hours a week consistently, not a designated SO by board action, misconduct free for 30 days, supervision fees must be under $100, and must submit travel pass information via furlough paperwork 10 days in advance.
During weekend furloughs, re-entrants still must follow curfew hours that are set forth. Must contact TLC via telephone daily for check ins.
Cell phones are permitted however you are not allowed to take pictures inside the facility and/or face-time inside the facility.
Voice calls are not permitted between the hours of 12am-5am. Use of cell phones in bedrooms are not permitted between 10pm-5am. Text messages and internet usage is allowed.
Resident landlines are also available to those who do not have access to cell phones.
Yes. You are eligible for food stamps while you reside at TLC.
Re-entrants are permitted to purchase their own food. Any open containers of food with the exception of fruit/vegetables is not allowed into the center.
Specific duties and responsibilities will be assigned to ensure that all areas of the facility receive daily housekeeping and regular maintenance. TLC provides all cleaning supplies. Beds must be made prior to leaving for work in the morning and kept that way until 5pm. On Saturday and Sundays, beds must be made prior to leaving for free time. Floors and desks must not be cluttered. Lockers are provided for every re-entrant to keep personal belongings.
Yes. TLC has limited smoking designations (porch and patio) outside the house. No open cigarette packs are allowed into the facility. When leaving take what you need only as you cannot bring opened packs back into the facility. No loose tobacco is allowed into the facility.
